The invitation was designed by Rajni Iyengar of Pink Whistle Man. Presented in an elegant ivory and powder-blue box, it features embossed stationery, intricate detailing and a distinctive crest seal that gives it a regal appearance. Sharing the invitation on social media, the designer wrote, “Designing these invitations for Kavya Maran and Anirudh has been one of the best experiences of my life!”
The reception is scheduled for November 21, 2026, in Chennai. Kavya’s parents, Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran and his wife Kavery Maran, have personally invited several political leaders to the celebrations. The Telangana Chief Minister’s Office confirmed a meeting after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy shared photographs and videos of his meeting with Kalanithi and Kavery Maran.
The families also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to attend the ceremonies. Anirudh’s parents, actor Ravi Raghavendra and Lakshmi Ravichander, were present during the meeting. The Maran family also met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, accompanied by Anirudh Ravichander.
Other political leaders reportedly invited to the reception include former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin, Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
Several prominent names from the film industry have also emerged in reports about the guest list. Rajinikanth, who is Anirudh’s uncle, is among the notable personalities expected to be associated with the celebrations. According to reports, the guest list also includes music composer A.R. Rahman, actor Sivakarthikeyan and his wife Aarthi, Ajith Kumar, director Nelson Dilipkumar and Telugu star Allu Arjun.
While the reception will be held in Chennai, reports suggest that Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran could marry in Greece over two days, on November 10 and 11. The wedding is expected to be an intimate affair, with only close family members and a select group of friends attending. The Maran family is reportedly overseeing the arrangements in Greece, including flights, accommodation and transportation for guests.
Anirudh Ravichander rose to prominence with his debut song, “Why This Kolaveri Di”, which became a major hit and made him popular beyond Tamil cinema. Since then, he has composed numerous songs and worked with several stars.

Kavya Maran is the daughter of Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran and serves as the CEO and co-owner of the Indian Premier League franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. After completing her MBA at Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom, she joined Sun TV Network as an executive director in 2019.
With the reception date confirmed and invitations reportedly extended to prominent political leaders and film personalities, the celebrations surrounding Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran’s reported wedding have attracted widespread attention.
